The tall grasses of the Mares Tail Meadows bobbed and weaved in the soft breeze of spring. The tall wild flowers dotted the enormous, rolling hills with pastel colors as they peeked their petaled heads above the tips of the grasses. The soft shhh-shhhh of too-large grasses scraping together as large blue stems and little blue stems bobbed under the soft winds. Hooves crunched on the soft sands. Roane snatched up a fistful of grass, throwing it aside and grumbling under her breath. What was she doing here? - Oh yeah, escaping the redundant life of the palace.
The frolicking gaity of the women at the palace each spring always drove Roane out and into the wild. She simply could not stand the fickle-filly behaviors or the men fawning over the ladies because of it. She furrowed her brows, reaching a single hand up to yank at her hair, exposing her heavily scarred, bare shoulders to the intense sunlight of the late afternoon.

He was not lost. Never in his life had Notus been lost, and he wasn't about to start now. He wasn't. He knew exactly where he was! Kind of.. Still, he wasn't lost. Right?.. Okay. So maybe he was a little, eensy weensy, teeny tiny bit.. unsure of where he was. But that didn't matter! That was part of the adventure, was it not!? The stud nodded his head, finally content with his thought processes, his chocolate tresses falling freely into his amber eyes. The spring air was cool, and crisp, constricting around him. It felt as if his steps sliced through an invisible liquid, grey worn hooves pressing into dewy, soft grass and soil, leaving a trail behind him, a story of where he'd been and where he was going. But the silver stallion wouldn't know that-- he never looked back. Life was about living in the now, and I mean, think about it: Now has never happened before, and it only lasts for.. well, now.
The brindled animal kicked his heels into a trot, the tall grasses brushing his belly, making his cocoa toned tail flick frequently at his flanks, as if he could chase the tickle away. His neck curled in, muscles bunching an coiling, like a cobra tempted to strike. His nostrils flared, sensitive ink-lined ears twisting and turning to hear anything that may pose a threat, or possibly things that don't. Riiiip. The stud slid to a stop rather abruptly, a startled breath exhaling from his lips, hooves stilled, an eerie silence falling over him. Any logical equine when turn and bolt- or maybe they wouldn't, but whatever- but Notus was hardly logical all the time. It took too much effort. So, with an overwhelming curiosity overtaking his senses, he took several tentative, cautious steps forward. His explosive nerves sent adrenaline pulsing through his veins like a liquid fire, heating him from the inside out as the draft cross crossed the meadow.
His eyes fell on Roane, stride stilling again, confusion and other indiscernible emotions plaguing him. The figure smelled undeniably female, and he had to admit, despite her.. unique form, she was oddly beautiful. Caution in his gaze, Notus took another step forward. "Morning," His voice pierced the quiet spring, an inevitable charm dripping like an addictive poison with his words. "If you.. don't mind my asking. What are you?" He couldn't go twenty seconds without asking questions. But he had to know. Heck, the massive stallion didn't even know if this.. she-thing could understand a word he was saying. If she did, the cards were on the table. An air of hesitation still lofted around the big stud as he watched Roane with a curious gaze, golden eyes nearly daring her to answer.

roane sellia
The soft crunch of hooves on the grass in a quick, trotting approach reach her mildly pointed ears. She swung her head around, her long hair swirling in the motions as she did. Her slightly large eyes widened with surprise as the stallion reached her. Who the hell was he? Who the hell did he think he was? Ah, but his words informed her of his ignorance and she felt a smile pull across her lips. Her pale blue eyes lightened slightly from the darker brooding that had reflected in them moments before.
"Euthean." the answer was crisp, abruptly crisp, but it was an answer, at least. "And you're a horse. Now that we have that out of the way, what's your name?" she asked him, moving right along. She turned to face him, snapping her white tail around behind her to keep the trailing ends from getting trapped under her hooves.
She tilted her head, watching him with a curiously piercing gaze. She hadn't met an equine outside of her clan lands before and certainly not one that was free-roaming. Her clan, above all others, was notorious for enslaving the other species - ah but she did not participate in those acts. She didn't give a damn about much else other then war, fighting and hunting.
