Every year the temperature gets colder and colder and more life dies out. There is little to no summer any more. Eventually, the planet will freeze solid for a month. Where nothing lives. Before there is a complete rebirth of new life. However, before then. It's still an arms race for survival on the harsh earth. Many species have already perished, reptiles and amphibians the first to go, slowly the fish are beginning to freeze as does their home. Birds are finding it harder and harder to keep their eggs warm and they too are decreasing in numbers. The only creatures that are learning to survive, are the mammals. Where there is little to no food, herbivores still manage to dig up something from the large pine-trees. They have adapted to eat everything and anything but reduced the amount they need. But their problems don't end there, the predators have survived too. Dogs and foxes are the two thriving species. Both have adapted greatly and are increasing in numbers to the point there have become frequent border skirmishes between the two. Already, they have realized that both of them can't flourish while the other is taking what they need. It is indeed, a dog eat dog world now..[/style] |
